EVAPOTRANSPIRATION (ET)<\/strong>
\n<\/b><\/h4>\n
\nThe water passes from a liquid to a gaseous state, diffusing into the atmosphere through stomatal openings. This phenomenon is referred to as transpiration (T)<\/strong>. At the same time, the soil loses water by direct evaporation (E)<\/strong>.
\nThe sum of the amount of water lost by the soil through evaporation and by the plants through transpiration is called evapotranspiration (ET)<\/strong>. The transition of water from a liquid to a gaseous state absorbs energy, causing the temperature in the atmosphere around the foliage to lower.
\nThe surrounding environment is cooled thanks to the subtraction of the thermal energy required for its
\nconversion from the liquid state to the gaseous state (aqueous vapour). Water, which is present in the soil, evaporates in the atmosphere through the leaves of plants, while aqueous vapour, together with the energy absorbed, is dispersed.<\/span><\/p>\n
