GREEN WALLS

Vertical Vegetation:

Green Walls are harmonious compositions in which vegetation is used to cover the outside of a building, and which can naturally also be installed on the outer walls of our own home.
In addition to improving the microclimate, sound insulation, absorbing dust and pollutants and increasing biodiversity, green walls also constitute important ecological islands for urban spaces.
They optimise the use of available space in cities, where green areas are becoming increasingly scarce, and are the ideal solution for restoring urban greenery.
Green Walls increase the ecological and economic value of real estate.

GREEN WALLS

Choosing a specific green roof or green wall for a project depends on several factors (climate zone, water availability, type of plants used). The kind of building, shape/structure of the roof and exterior walls play a very important role in the decision. The capacity for evapotranspiration and subsequent cooling of the surrounding environment also depends on the kind of plants used.

Ground-based Green Walls

Long-term EFFECT

In this installation, the plants grow directly from the soil at the base of the building.
In this case, the vegetation relies on the natural water supply (rainwater) and nutrients found in the soil.
The growth of the plants on the façade can be assisted by supporting structures (cables or wire
mesh) to facilitate climbing.

Modular Green Walls

immediate effect

This option involves the installation of pre-vegetated modules directly on the façade. Modular green walls have no contact with the soil and require the installation of a fertigation system to supply the water and nutrients needed for the plants to grow. A rainwater harvesting system able to supply the irrigation can be also installed.

MAINTENANCE

Modular green wall maintenance involves regular pruning of the vegetation near doors, windows and ventilation ducts, as well as periodic checks of the fertigation system.
